Itinerary:

Departure from Luna Volcán by car. Baños is the "Golden Gate" to the Amazon rainforest. In approximately 17 km we find the wonderful waterfall of "Pailon del Diablo", known as the most impressive waterfall in the area and denominated as the tenth of the highest waterfalls in the world.

You can enjoy the wonderful scenery starting 30 km from the junction of the Chambo and Patate rivers. We walk along a short trail from Rio Verde with lush vegetation and arrive at a suspension bridge over the river below the waterfalls. Before reaching the bridge there is a short trail that leads to a lookout point from which you can observe the deep pool into which the water from the waterfall falls - this is an excellent photo opportunity.

Many may recognize the setting in which the HOLLYWOOD blockbuster "Proof of Life" directed by Taylor Hackford and starring Meg Ryan, Russell Crowe, and David Morse was filmed.

Keep your eyes peeled for the devil's face on the rock inside the waterfall.
